Judaai is a 2016 hindi drama film directed by Sanjay Chauhan and produced by Guru Dutt Productions. The film stars Harshvardhan Kapoor, Kriti Kharbanda, Vikram Gokhale, Saqib Saleem and Radhika Madan in lead roles. It has been scheduled for release on 15 November 2016. The story revolves around the life of Simran who works at an NGO in Delhi on issues related to rights. He falls for his boss Jhuma whom he considers responsible for his success but she falls in love with him during their vacation period in Goa where they meet again after years of separation. Simran is married to Roshni who has lost her vision in an accident when she was young. Simran, after marriage, keeps himself away from Jhuma even if he loves her. Simran is forced to let his wife know the truth about him and Jhuma after it is revealed that Jhuma is pregnant with his child. "Judaai" has been directed by Sanjay Chauhan who earlier directed films like "Husn Ka Daur", "Dhoom Machaao Dhoom" and "Dil Diya Hai". The trailer of the film was released on 9 August 2016. The film has been produced by Jayantilal Gada. "Judaai" was released worldwide on 15 November 2016. It received generally negative reviews from critics upon its theatrical release in India, particularly for its execution of the film's narrative. Despite this, "Judaai" managed to do average business at the box office, mainly due to positive word-of-mouth publicity amongst audience members, who praised Chauhan's depiction of romance.The soundtrack of Jaadu was composed by Anand Raj Anand while the background score was composed by Amar Mohile & Raghav Sachar. "Judaai" soundtrack album was released on January 2017 by T-Series. The first song 'Judaai' was released on 31 December 2016. The other songs were released in January 2017, which were: "Judaai" received mixed reviews from critics upon its Indian release with a reviewer from Bollywood Hungama praising its "authentic and contemporary content". Rohit Khilnani of Hindustan Times wrote: "Director Sanjay Chauhan and his team have tried really hard to retain the old charm of the film, keeping in mind that family values are above all else. But the film is weighed down by its own over-sentimentality to make an impact." Meena Iyer of Times of India too gave it a mixed review, writing: "Judaai doesn’t know what to do with itself. It’s not your average love story. You want it to be an intense tale of lust, but the director wants you to shed tears for love! The film does neither, and ends up being a tedious watch."
